MediaInfo is an especially developed utility to extract the very detailed information about a multimedia file. The main multimedia files formats supported by this software are as follows:
MPEG1 (including VCD)
MPEG2 (including DVD and SVCD)
MPEG4 (including I tunes M4A)
Matroska, OGG (including OGM)
WindowsMedia (including WMV, WMA)
Microsoft RIFF (including AVI, WAV)
Sound-only formats (AC3, AAC, AU, AIFF, DTS...)

This open source mediainfo tool is very useful if you want to know everything about a media file from type of stream to frame rate, video stream rate to audio stream rate, video size to compression format, codec to exact file size, File extension to file duration, overall bit rate to file creation date etc. This utility has six different views basic, Sheet, tree, text, HTML and custom to show details media information. You can also export your media detail in a CSV format or just in text format. Its user interface is very user friendly. And it also supports many languages for user interface. It also bundled with a Debug option which may be used to repair corrupted media files.
